RETURN TO DUNBLANE WITH LORRAINE KELLY
ALASKA TV FOR ITV
1 x 60
Lorraine Kelly re-visits the small Scottish town of Dunblane 25 years after the deadliest mass shooting in UK history, when 16 primary school children and their teacher were tragically murdered by a lone gunman
I had overall responsibility for making this film and ensuring that we told this important story in way that honoured and respected all those involved. I directed journalist and presenter, Lorraine Kelly CBE, who was a reporter on the ground that day and was now returning to speak again to those affected by the tragic events. In heartfelt and sensitive interviews with parents of the murdered children, I explored not only what had happened to them since, but highlighted how these Dunblane parents were instrumental in changing gun laws in the UK.
‘Lorraine is just fantastic. Big thanks to the director for handling her and the contributors so well’. Tom Giles, Commissioning Editor ITV, Head of Current Affairs.
