MARY PORTAS QUEEN OF THE HIGH STREET

OPTOMEN TV FOR CHANNEL 4

1 x 60

Famed retail guru, Mary Portas gets a call from the UK Government asking her to help save small shops in town centres being squeezed out by big businesses

Following her appointment by David Cameron, the then British Prime Minister, to lead a review into the future of Britain's high streets, this Ob Doc series follows Mary Portas trying to implement Portas Review ideas to help rejuvenate the high street.

I made the Liskeard Cornwall episode, a place close to my heart, as I’m Cornish and used to visit this market town often growing up. I worked with Mary and many colourful local characters: juggling storylines to produce a humorous, moving and transformational programme.

The series got great press coverage, pick of the day in most media and did very well for C4.
